Our Occupational Health and Safety Management system is Accredited by the British Standards Institute with quality standard BS OHSAS 18001:2007.
We are audited for the standard by BSI on an annual basis.
This specifies the requirement for an occupational health & safety management system, to enable us to control occupational health & safety risks and improve performance. Crystal are aware of our legal obligations and the consequences of our failure to meet them. We have a responsibility to take care of our staff and to make sure they work safely. Risk & COSHH Assessments are conducted for all of our sites by our Operations Management team, who evaluate risks to health and the actions needed to remove or reduce those risks.
All staff go through induction training and have access to a COSHH folder at site level containing the safety data sheets for all chemicals used. Listed on each data sheet is information concerning work practises, these are a basic quick glance list of instructions on the Health & Safety precautions, instructions on use, storage and disposal notes. Monthly inspections, continual monitoring of even the smallest non conformance and regular Health & Safety meetings to address issues, changes and trends means we have been able to prevent and minimise site accidents involving personnel, thus producing a safer working environment.
